About
Radium Hot Springs is operated by Parks Canada and nestled in the dramatic Sinclair Canyon at the southern end of Kootenay National Park, British Columbia. The naturally heated mineral water is colourless and odourless, with no sulphur smell, and carries dissolved sulphate, calcium, bicarbonate, silica and magnesium.
The pools
- A large open-air hot soaking pool, with water between 37°C and 40°C (98–104°F)
- A deep cool swimming pool (about 27°C / 84°F) for lengths and cooling off
The historic Aquacourt bathhouse is a Classified Federal Heritage Building listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places, framed by the towering red rock walls of Sinclair Canyon. It is one of three thermal pools in the Rocky Mountain national parks.
Visiting
The pools are open year-round. Summer hours (roughly May to September) run daily from 8:30 am to 10 pm; winter hours are reduced. Admission is purchased in person at reception.
