Миргородкурорт

Myrhorodkurort is the state balneological resort in Myrhorod, Poltava Oblast, and one of Ukraine's oldest and best-known health-resort complexes, built around the celebrated Myrhorodska mineral water and local curative mud.

Mineral water and source

The chloride-sodium medicinal-table water is drawn from three boreholes at depths of 673-710 m in the Myrhorod depression and delivered to the central pump room through a system that preserves its natural composition. With a mineralisation of about 2.5-3.2 g/l, it contains sodium, calcium, iodine, magnesium, iron, fluorine, bromine, silicon and copper. It is prescribed for the gastrointestinal tract, liver, bile ducts, pancreas, metabolic and endocrine disorders (including diabetes and thyroid conditions), and used in rehabilitation.

Curative mud and balneology

The resort's second natural resource is peat mud (peloid), applied for disorders of the musculoskeletal system and peripheral nervous system. A dedicated balneo-mud clinic (balneohriazelikarnia) provides therapeutic mineral baths, mud therapy, irrigations, inhalations and manual massage; mineral baths help normalise the nervous system, improve metabolism and relieve muscle pain.

The sanatoria sit in a landscaped park setting and combine medical balneotherapy with accommodation and dietary dining.
