Fjärran Höjderbadet

Fjärran Höjderbadet is a municipal swimming and bathing complex run by Gävle kommun in Gävle, Sweden. Indoors, the family pool area has two basins at about 30°C: a smaller pool for younger children with a bubble pool, a small water vortex and a waterslide, and a larger pool with currents, water jets, an aquarium, a bubble pool and a heated pool that connects directly to an outdoor pool open year-round. A separate teaching pool, kept at about 34°C, is used for swim school, baby swimming and water gymnastics, open to the public during school holidays and on Sundays. The 25-metre sports pool holds water at about 26°C, with lanes 6-8 for lap swimming and lanes 1-5 used for swim school on weekdays; a diving tower and trampoline operate on weekends and holidays. Outdoors there is also a 50-metre pool (130-165 cm deep), a shallow children pool and the smallest Plasken pool for toddlers. A separate relax section for guests 18 and older has a dry sauna, a steam sauna and bubble pools, and on Thursday evenings from late October to early April a wood-fired sauna outdoors is lit, alongside Aufguss sessions with scented water poured on the stones. Cafe Badet on site can host pool parties by arrangement.
