Year-round geothermal spa, aquapark and hotel resort at the foot of the Homolje Mountains in the Mlava valley, near Petrovac na Mlavi.

About

Terme Ždrelo (Banja Ždrelo) is a modern geothermal spa, aquapark and hotel resort in the village of Ždrelo in eastern Serbia, set in the valley of the Mlava River at the foot of the Homolje Mountains, below the dominant peaks of Vukan and Ježevac, at the 11th kilometre of the Petrovac na Mlavi–Žagubica road. It operates all year round, in summer and winter alike.

Geothermal water & source

The resort's thermo-mineral water is drawn from a depth of 180 metres, where the source temperature exceeds 80°C. As it rises through cold earth layers it settles to a consistent bathing temperature of around 40°C, maintained year-round.

  • Oligomineral water with low dissolved solids (under 1 g/litre); total mineralisation about 0.5756 g/litre.
  • Dominant minerals: calcium, magnesium and sodium, with bicarbonate as the principal anion; sulphur- and mineral-rich.
  • Recognised therapeutic value for rheumatism, trauma recovery, skin conditions and gastritis relief.

Spa & aquapark pools and attractions

  • 9 pools in total: 4 indoor (2 for adults and 2 baby pools) and 5 outdoor pools.
  • One saltwater pool.
  • 5 water slides – 3 indoor and 2 outdoor – with use included in admission.
  • Bathing water kept at roughly 30–40°C so the pools and slides run through both summer and winter.
  • Sunbeds/loungers, changing facilities and healing mud available in summer.

Sauna & wellness

The hotel's Wellness & Spa centre offers a sauna, a salt room, a steam bath, a relaxation room and massage rooms, along with jacuzzi tubs and professional massage treatments.

Accommodation

The resort provides hotel accommodation with 75 units and a capacity of up to about 150 beds, including Standard, Superior, Deluxe and Lux rooms plus an Aqua apartment. The themed Deluxe rooms carry decorative motifs such as Scheherazade, Greco-Roman, Ethno, Tower and Fireplace, in keeping with the resort's ethno character.

Family & kids

With dedicated baby pools, warm-water aquapark pools and multiple slides, the resort is geared toward families and children as well as wellness guests.

Dining

An on-site ethno restaurant serves national cuisine and there is a festive Royal Hall for events; the restaurant operates from 07:00 to 22:00.

Setting

The surrounding Homolje region of eastern Serbia, with its mountains, the Mlava river valley and nearby natural attractions, gives the resort a scenic rural setting combining thermal bathing with an ethno-village atmosphere.
