Красное озеро

Krasnoe Ozero is a ski resort on the slopes above Lake Krasnoe, a designated natural monument, near the settlement of Korobitsyno in the Priozersky district of Leningrad Oblast, which the operator places 90 km from St Petersburg. The company's sales office is in St Petersburg on ulitsa Furshtatskaya, but the resort itself is at Korobitsyno. The operator dates the opening only to the late 1990s and gives no year. Entry to the resort grounds is free and parking is free, so the bathing facilities are reachable without buying a lift ticket.

Two separate bathing offers exist. The first is a wood-fired banya, which the operator invites guests to visit as a genuine banya on wood. It is let by the hour in two sections: a section for up to six people at 3,000 roubles an hour for private individuals and 4,000 for corporate clients, and a section for up to ten people at 3,500 roubles an hour. The minimum order is two hours, booking is by telephone at least four hours ahead with full prepayment, and the rental includes banya infusions and extracts, black and herbal tea, mugs, glasses and a grill. Birch and oak besoms are 400 and 500 roubles, sheet and towel hire 200 roubles each. The banya's stated hours are Monday to Friday 12:00 to 22:00.

The second is the SPA centre, housed in the building of the Krasnoe Ozero sanatorium. The resort built a hotel between 2005 and 2008 which later became the Clinic of Restorative Medicine incorporating the spa complex. The sanatorium's own page for the centre invites readers to come to the SPA centre and receive a consultation from its therapists, and gives hours of daily 10:00 to 20:00 - so day visits are possible alongside the multi-day spa tours and treatment programmes the sanatorium sells, which admit only on Sundays. The centre's services are listed rather than counted: massage, a cedar barrel described as a mini-banya, an infrared cabin, a hammam, thalassotherapy, a Finnish sauna, whisky wraps, Kneipp foot baths, cosmetology and wraps. The resort's own page for the centre repeats the Finnish sauna, hammam, infrared cabin and cedar barrel and adds that doctors select the procedures.

The water is not thermal and not mineral. Neither the resort nor the sanatorium claims a spring, a borehole or a mineral source anywhere; the site's thalassotherapy entry describes that treatment in generic terms, as involving therapeutic muds, salt sea water and hot springs, without asserting any such source on the premises. The resort's open water is the lake itself. Among the summer services the operator lists an equipped sandy beach with a children's pool, a water ramp for skiers and snowboarders, a reversible cable tow for wakeboarding, boat hire, fishing, tennis courts and a mini-golf course; no total number of pools is published. In winter the operator lists 18 pistes with drops of 65 to 120 metres and lengths of 300 to 1,050 metres, two chairlifts and five drag lifts, with artificial snowmaking that has extended the season to six months. Accommodation is 33 cottages, described as comfortable cottages for 2 to 14 people with a sauna, plus glamping and hotel rooms.
