About

Villa Termal das Caldas de Monchique Spa Resort is the only thermal resort in the Algarve, set at around 350 metres altitude in the Serra de Monchique mountains, about 20 km from the coast. Its therapeutic springs have been valued since Roman times.

Thermal water & source

The Caldas de Monchique springs surface at roughly 32°C. The water is highly alkaline (pH 9.5) and rich in bicarbonate, sodium and fluoride, and is traditionally used for respiratory, musculoskeletal, digestive and rheumatic conditions.
