Termas da Terronha

The Termas de Vimioso (Termas da Terronha) is a municipal thermal spa in Vimioso, in northeastern Portugal, set in the midst of nature. Its modern thermal bathhouse (Balneário Termal) opened in 2013, offering treatments administered by qualified therapists using innovative equipment. Thermal water The spa draws on a hypothermal, sulphurous, sodium-bicarbonate, fluoridated and alkaline mineral water. A medical-hydrological study has recognised its therapeutic benefits for rheumatic and musculoskeletal conditions and for diseases of the respiratory system. The thermal-cure season runs from 1 May to 30 November, while the wellness side of the spa, built around a heated pool circuit with its own sauna and Turkish bath, operates year-round. Cure treatments, given after a medical consultation, include immersion baths, jet and circular showers, steam applications, nasal and respiratory irrigation, mud-poultice (cataplasm) treatments for hands and feet, and manual massage and hydrotherapy.
