Poça da Dona Beija

Poça da Dona Beija is a set of natural hot springs in the Furnas valley of São Miguel, in the Azores. The site draws on the area's volcanic geothermal activity, delivering iron-rich thermal water at a temperature of around 39°C.

Volcanic thermal water

The waters emerge from the geothermal Furnas landscape and are described as iron-rich, giving the pools their characteristic mineral quality. Bathing temperature sits at approximately 39°C.

Outdoor bathing pools

The thermal pools are outdoor, set within a space immersed in exuberant nature. Visitors bathe in a serene, mystic environment among lush vegetation typical of the Furnas valley.

• Open daily 08:30–23:00 (last entry 21:30; pools must be vacated by 22:30)
• Reduced hours on 24 & 31 December (08:30–16:00) and 1 January (11:00–21:30); closed 25 December
