Qarium Kępno
An indoor leisure bath at ul. Sportowa 11 in Kępno with a 25-metre six-lane sports pool, a recreation pool at 31 degrees, the 78-metre Anaconda slide and a ground-floor sauna zone, run by the municipal company PROJEKT Kępno.
About
Qarium stands in the centre of Kępno in southern Greater Poland, at ul. Sportowa 11, beside a pond and next to the town's sports hall, municipal stadium and training pitch. It is an indoor swimming bath and the water is plain heated pool water: the operator publishes no borehole, no outflow temperature and no mineral content, and the words geotermalna, termalna, solanka and odwiert appear nowhere across its front page, its about page, its three zone pages or its water-testing page. The building is managed by the municipal company PROJEKT KĘPNO Sp. z o.o. and has an outdoor car park with 94 ordinary spaces, three for disabled drivers, five for families and three for coaches; the bath is fitted with a lift and a pool hoist.
The sports zone is on the first floor. The pool is 25 metres long and 12.5 metres wide, with the floor falling from 1.35 to 1.80 metres, and has six lanes usable for competition. Seating runs to 160 places on a second-floor stand plus 48 seats and two disabled places at the poolside, which the house rules give together as 208 seats and two disabled places. The water there is held at 27 to 28 degrees Celsius.
The recreation zone is on the same floor. Its basin is 20 metres long and between 1.10 and 1.25 metres deep, and holds a rapid river, a water swing, an air geyser, neck massagers, underwater benches and loungers and a massage point; three teaching lanes are set aside within it for the national "Umiem pływać" programme. The operator gives the width of this basin inconsistently: the recreation zone page says 13 metres and the about page says about 13.6 metres, and the site does not reconcile the two. The recreation water runs at 31 to 31.5 degrees. Two four-person jacuzzi tubs sit next to it with water at 34.5 degrees, fitted with water and air massage jets. The slide is the Anaconda, 78.45 metres in total length with its start point 8.63 metres up and a timed descent. A separate toddler zone completes the floor.
The sauna zone occupies the ground floor. The operator enumerates rather than counts it: a steam room with aromatherapy, at roughly 40 to 45 degrees and full humidity, lined throughout in ceramic mosaic; a Finnish dry sauna at roughly 85 to 100 degrees and about 10 per cent humidity; an infrared cabin at around 55 to 60 degrees; and a biosauna running between 40 and 90 degrees at 10 to 60 per cent humidity. Around them the about page lists an ice grotto, heated benches including one with foot-soaking trays, an ice well, a cold-water pool, a set of screw showers with a Kneipp bucket, a jacuzzi and a relaxation room overlooking the terrace and garden. An experience shower offers three programmes, warm rain, cold rain and Arctic mist. A graduation tower for seniors operates outside the sauna zone's own hours. Sauna-master ceremonies and occasional sauna nights are run on a published schedule.
The bath is open Monday to Sunday from 07:00 to 21:00. The operator's site gives no opening year for the building.
