Polynesian Spa

Thermal bathRotorua, New Zealand

Geothermal spa on Lake Rotorua fed by two natural mineral springs, with lakeside hot pools, family pools, private pools and spa therapies.

About

Polynesian Spa is a geothermal bathing complex on the shore of Lake Rotorua, drawing on the area's volcanic mineral waters that have been used for bathing since the late 19th century.

Two mineral spring waters

  • Priest Spring (acidic) - sulphate-rich acidic water traditionally used to soothe tired muscles, aches and pains, named after Father Mahoney, who found relief from arthritis here in 1878.
  • Rachel Spring (alkaline) - alkaline water rich in sodium silicate, valued since 1902 for its nourishing effect on the skin.

Pools and temperatures

The complex has multiple pools spread across several areas, including family pools around 33-40°C with freshwater and mineral options, adult-only pavilion pools, and private pools for intimate soaks.

Lakeside pools and spa

The Deluxe Lake Spa offers premium pools with views over Lake Rotorua, and the spa provides wellness therapies and treatments alongside the geothermal bathing.
