Thermal bathMa'in, Madaba, Jordan

Hyperthermal springs and waterfalls (45-60C) in a desert canyon near the Dead Sea, with public thermal pools, a spa and a resort hotel.

About

Ma'in Hot Springs (حمامات ماعين) is a cluster of thermal mineral hot springs and cascading waterfalls set in a dramatic desert canyon in the Madaba Governorate of Jordan, about 30 km from Madaba and a short drive from the Dead Sea, at roughly 264 metres below sea level. Rain that falls on the highlands is geothermally heated underground and re-emerges as hyperthermal springs feeding a series of waterfalls.

Thermal waterfalls & hot springs

The waters emerge hot, with temperatures ranging from about 45C up to 60C, and are rich in minerals including potassium, magnesium and calcium. The springs have been used for thermal treatments since Roman times and are traditionally associated with Herod the Great, who is said to have bathed here.

Public thermal pools & spa

  • Public bathing pools fed directly by the hot mineral springs and waterfalls
  • An outdoor pool set beneath a thermal waterfall
  • The Cascade Spa, offering treatments such as Dead Sea mud wraps, salt body polishes and signature spa journeys

Resort & canyon setting

The Ma'in Hot Spring Resort & Spa provides accommodation (Superior, Junior, Family and Royal suites), restaurants and bars, and meeting and event facilities, all within the steep-walled canyon that channels the springs down toward the Dead Sea valley.
