Spa thermal

Santenay sits among the Burgundy vineyards south of Beaune, and the thermal establishment on Avenue des Sources is the reason the village appears on the spa map at all. ValVital runs two accredited cure orientations here - rheumatology, and digestive and metabolic conditions - taken singly or as a double orientation. The cure water is described by the operator as chloride, sulphate and sodium in character, with the highest lithium content in Europe; the same page credits the lithium with a calming effect and the water with anti-inflammatory action on joint pain. The cure season runs from 16 March to 21 November 2026, and a directly connected residence, the Villa Thermae, holds 49 studios and suites so that guests can walk to treatment in a bathrobe.

The Spa Thermal is the part open to anyone. Its Aqua-detente circuit is built around a heated thermal pool - described elsewhere on the operator's site as panoramic - together with a hammam, a sauna, a frigidarium, a tepidarium, a caldarium arranged as a hot and cold well, and a music grotto. Treatment rooms include two duo cabins for couples, and the Institut adds body and facial massages from the thermal tradition. Access to the pool area and the Institut is from 16, with dedicated family slots for children aged 6 to 15 on Wednesdays and Sunday mornings outside school holidays, and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during them.

Opening is longer than the cure season: the spa runs from 11 February to 27 December 2026, closing on 25 December and on 1 January 2027. Hours are afternoon-weighted - 14:00 to 18:30 Monday to Wednesday, to 19:30 on Thursday, to 20:00 on Friday and Saturday, with a longer Sunday from 10:45 to 18:00 - and bathers are asked to leave the water half an hour before closing. No booking is needed for the pool area, while the Institut works by appointment. Aquagym runs from 16 March to 27 December on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings, and the spa hosts monthly wine-tasting and brunch evenings that lean on the surrounding vineyards.
