Iléo
A year-round leisure pool complex on the Île d'Oléron at Dolus-d'Oléron, combining an indoor hall with a 25-metre pool, a 60-metre slide and a wellness area with sauna, hammam and outdoor whirlpools, plus a large open-air water park in summer.
About
Iléo is the aquatic centre of the Île d'Oléron, on the French Atlantic coast, at Route du Stade in Dolus-d'Oléron (postcode 17550). It is operated under the Récréa group, whose legal notice gives a company seat at Saint-Contest in Normandy; the bath itself is on Oléron. The operator describes it as a centre aqualudique open all year ("le centre aquatique de l'île d'Oléron, à Dolus-d'Oléron, ouvert toute l'année"). Nothing on the site claims thermal, mineral or sea water: the pools are ordinary heated pool water, and the only reference to the sea is to Oléron's beaches. The name given on the site is "Iléo", spelled with a single accent, where the database holds "ÎléO".
The site is organised in three areas plus a summer water park. The indoor aquatic area is enumerated rather than totalled: a 25-metre sports pool with five lanes and a depth running from 1.35 m to 3 m; a family leisure pool with a lock through to the outdoor river; a 25 m² paddling pool for small children; and a 60-metre indoor slide with a braked landing pool. The operator also lists a solarium.
The wellness area (espace bien-être) is described item by item on its own page. It holds a balneotherapy pool with hydromassage jets and a bubble bench, heated to 32 °C; an indoor jacuzzi; two outdoor whirlpools in a nordic spa open all year, heated to 34 °C; a traditional sauna at 80 °C with a cold bucket; a hammam at 45 °C with an ice fountain; sensory showers with varied jets, temperatures, light and sound; a cold-water well 1.15 m deep; and a herbal-tea room. A solarium garden adjoins it. The operator does not publish a total number of pools or of heat cabins anywhere on the site.
A separate cardio-training and group-class room (espace forme) holds treadmills, rowers, seated and recumbent bikes, a stepper and cross-trainers. For the summer season the operator opens an outdoor water park, listing a lazy river with rings, a pentagliss multi-lane mat slide, a wave pool, an artificial surf wave, numerous slides, inflatable structures and play areas; one page still advertises this park for the 2024 season while the homepage refers to it generally as the summer season, so no current season dates can be given from the site.
Hours are published per area and vary by school term. The banner at the time of reading gives the aquatic area 12:00–13:45 and 17:00–20:00, the wellness area 10:00–20:00 and the fitness area 09:00–20:00, with the timetable page showing longer weekend and Wednesday openings and later Tuesday closing at 21:00; pools are cleared 15 minutes before closing. Published admission is €6.95 for an adult single pool entry and €5.10 for a child aged 3 to 11, both outside July and August, with a family pass at €22.90 and a ten-entry card at €62.00. A "Liberté" ticket giving access to the balneo, cardio and pool areas is €17.95 for one adult and €32.50 for two, and an all-inclusive day ticket adding the activities of your choice is €29.00.
