Aquaclub Belle Dune

The Aquaclub de Belle Dune stands among the dunes and maritime pines between Fort-Mahon-Plage and Quend-Plage, on the Baie de Somme coast of Picardy. The water is ordinary treated pool water, heated: the operator states it is warmed to 29°. The building holds two distinct indoor basins. A sports pool of 25 metres with four marked lanes is used for lane swimming, swimming lessons, aquagym and aquabike, which run through the year. Beside it an indoor leisure basin carries a wave machine, a large slide and a jacuzzi, and a separate toddler area with a small climbable boat and water games.

In summer the site opens a second, outdoor half. The operator says the outdoor basins are open every day in high season, from 1 July to 31 August; they include a pentagliss multi-lane slide, a further slide, water jets for small children, an open-air paddling area and sun loungers. The indoor halls keep the venue running outside that window, so it is not a seasonal park.

A wellness block is open summer and winter with a sauna and a hammam, alongside a new cardio-fitness room with an elliptical trainer, treadmill and weights bench; access to that space is for adults only and booking by telephone is advised. Admission to the leisure basin is published as 13 € for an adult in low season and 17 € in high season, with a child or teenager at 10,50 € and 13 €; a combined Pass Aquaclub covering leisure and sports basins is 15 € or 20 € for an adult. The sports pool alone is 6 € for an adult and 5 € for a child. The wellness and cardio-fitness space is a separate 17 € single entry, or 150 € for ten. Low season is defined as 1 January to 30 June and 1 September to 31 December. Opening hours are published week by week for each basin separately, with last entry an hour before closing; the wellness space opens 10h30 to 13h30 and 15h to 18h, on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays outside school holidays and daily during them. The snack restaurant operates only in the 1 July to 31 August season.
