Lalandia
The Aquadome at Lalandia Søndervig is an indoor water park on the Danish North Sea coast with four tube slides of 107 to 178 metres, a wave pool, a surf machine, two water playgrounds and an 80 °C panoramic sauna with indoor and outdoor hot pools.
About
Lalandia Søndervig is a holiday centre on the Danish North Sea coast operated by Lalandia A/S; its bathing offer is the indoor water park called the Aquadome. The resort around it is lodging — holiday homes and holiday apartments whose rental includes free admission to the Aquadome and the Monky Tonky Land play world — but the Aquadome also admits day visitors, for whom the operator states that a ticket is valid once only, that leaving and re-entering on the same ticket is not possible, and that waiting may be required at busy times. The centre opened on 9 June 2022. The water is heated indoor pool water; the operator calls the hall tropical in reference to its climate and makes no thermal, mineral or brine claim.
The published slide set consists of four tube rides, each given with a minimum height and a length. Tornado, described as a steep tube starting high up in the hall, is 178 m with a 120 cm height limit and a stated gradient of 60–90 %. Beach Racers is a set of three parallel winding tubes raced side by side, 107 m, from 100 cm. Lighthouse Slide, in the Tornado Tower, is ridden in a bathing ring, 118 m, from 110 cm. Bunker Tube is ridden two at a time, also 118 m, from 110 cm. Mounted GoPro cameras are allowed on the water slides but nowhere else in the Aquadome.
Alongside the slides the Aquadome has a large wave pool whose water depth runs from 0 to 160 cm, with the bigger waves at the deep front of the pool and small waves at the water's edge, and a WaveSurf surf machine that can be ridden standing, lying or sitting, with instructor guidance. The Aqua Splash Playground is a water playground with five further slides, a giant bucket that empties 650 litres at once, a lookout tower and water guns and fountains. A separate Kids Area at the entrance serves ages 0–5 with water-spraying mushrooms and a small slide, while the junior pool has a water depth of 60 cm and four water slides of its own.
The wellness part is a panoramic sauna at 80 °C with daylight and a view over the hall and space for 70 people, surrounded by a relaxation area with sun loungers and an indoor hot pool with massage jets; an outdoor area adds a large hot pool with massage jets that the operator says is heated all year round. The operator does not state how many pools or sauna cabins there are in total, nor a water temperature for any pool. Eating is confined to the Surf Club Food Court and its terrace inside the hall; own food and drink may not be brought in. At least three professional lifeguards are on duty. Children under 12 must be accompanied by someone over 18, and diving is not permitted. Note a contradiction between two operator pages on the nappy-swimming-costume rule: the Aquadome page requires one for children under 3 years of age, while the practical-information page words the same rule as children from 3 years of age or under.
