About

Top-Terme Topusko sits beside the river Glina in Sisak-Moslavina county, on springs that have drawn people for a very long time: the operator dates local use back some three thousand years to the Iapodes, points to Roman remains, and notes the Cistercian abbey King Andrew II founded in the thirteenth century, whose church portal still stands in Opatovina park. The modern record begins in 1826, when Professor Michael Kunnits wrote to Emperor Francis I describing the thermal cure at Topusko and published a topographical account of the mineral bath the following year. Top-Terme d.o.o. itself was set up on 1 May 2003 as a subsidiary of the Topusko health resort, which handles the medical side - rehabilitation of the locomotor, nervous and muscular systems.

The water is volcanic in origin and unusually abundant: the operator's analysis puts the spring yield at over 200 litres per second and the temperature at 68 degrees. The published table is dominated by hydrogen carbonate at 259.99 mg/l and sulphate at 108.64 mg/l, with calcium at 83.60 mg/l; iron shows at 1.189 mg/l and hydrogen sulphide at 0.341 mg/l among the undissociated components, alongside silicic acid and free carbon dioxide. By the time it reaches the basins the water sits between 27 and 34 degrees. Treatment at the site is aimed at cardiovascular and rheumatic conditions.

Bathing happens in an outdoor complex a short walk from the main buildings: five pools of differing size, depth and temperature, all filled with thermal water and all included in a single ticket. The grounds around them are laid out for a full day rather than a quick dip - three tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, boules, mini golf, table tennis and an open-air restaurant with a children's playground. The outdoor pools run daily from 09:00 to 20:00 and opened for the 2026 season on 29 May, with free entry on the opening day. Adult tickets are cheaper after 15:00 and cheaper again after 17:00.

Visitors should plan around one large caveat. The indoor pool belongs to the Toplica building and the health-and-recreation centre, and both are being rebuilt under a project the operator calls Topusko at the source of health. The notice is blunt: works have begun and the Toplica hotel will not operate until the refurbishment is finished, with the pool page simply marked closed because of the hotel renovation. No reopening date is given. The health resort continues to work normally from its Petrova gora building and the mud baths.
