Therme Pautalia
Family thermal-mineral water complex in Kyustendil (ancient Pautalia), spread over 10,000 sq.m at the foot of Osogovo mountain.
About
Therme Pautalia is a thermal-mineral water complex in Kyustendil, in southwestern Bulgaria, spanning more than 10,000 square metres at the foot of the Osogovo mountain at 527 metres of altitude. The city's ancient name, Pautalia, is understood to mean "city of springs" or "gushing springs", a direct reference to the hot mineral springs that first drew a Thracian settlement here and made the town a spa centre in the Roman era. The complex is expressly designed around the needs of the whole family and is described by its operators as not a water park in the conventional sense.
Thermal-mineral water & source
The mineral water at the source reaches a temperature of 74°C, described as one of the hottest in the country. It is clear and colourless, with a strong odour of hydrogen sulphide, and has proven therapeutic properties.
Pools & attractions
- A hydro-massage basin of more than 600 square metres, with massage loungers, water jets and hydro-massage showers.
