Thermen Katara

Thermen Katara is a sauna and wellness complex in Belsele, Belgium, that the operator describes as containing ten different saunas, two steam baths, and several baths, tubs and jacuzzis. Named saunas include a 95-degree Panorama Sauna, a 90-degree Midsommar (Swedish) sauna, an 85-degree Finnish sauna where the venue holds pouring rituals, an 80-degree Thai pouring temple, a 75-degree domed sauna called The Bee Hive, a 70-degree Tibetan sauna (Thokmay) and a 70-degree Japanese sauna, a 65-degree Arabian sauna, a 65-degree infrared sauna (Zonnegloed), and a 45-degree hamam. A separate Roman bathhouse holds the Sudatorium, a large steam room also used for scrub sessions. Outside, guests can use a heated outdoor pool kept at 32 degrees Celsius year-round, jacuzzis and tubs at 37 degrees, and a 'Geiserbad' that the operator compares to the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. The complex is open daily from 10:00, closing at 23:00 Monday to Thursday, 23:30 Friday and Saturday, and 22:30 on Sunday; Wednesday is a mandatory-swimwear day. Day access costs 44.90-48.90 euros, and massages, treatments and multi-visit passes are also sold; an ID card is required at entry.
