Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool

Yarrangobilly Caves thermal pool is a naturally warm swimming spot tucked into the Yarrangobilly valley in the northern part of Kosciuszko National Park, New South Wales. Fed by a natural spring, the open-air pool is permanently heated to a constant 27C, making it swimmable all year round in a wild bush setting.

The pool

The main pool overflows in a gentle cascade into a children's wading pool, surrounded by the eucalypt bush of the valley. It is an outdoor, spring-fed pool rather than a built spa.

Access

• Reached on foot via the thermal pool walk, about 700m one-way from the carpark (roughly 15-30 minutes).
• The paved track is short but very steep, with a resting point about 200m from the top.
• Can also be combined with the Yarrangobilly River walk loop.

Facilities

• Change rooms (with an accessible option) and a picnic area beside the pool
• Non-flush toilets, including an accessible toilet
• No showers on site

Visiting

The Yarrangobilly area is open all year. A vehicle entry fee applies for those without a Kosciuszko National Park day pass or NPWS annual pass. The Yarrangobilly Caves Visitor Centre is open 9am to 5pm daily (closed Christmas Day).
