Hedon Spaa & Hotell (Pärnu mudaravila)
Pärnu, Estonia
Historic Pärnu Mud Baths building, now Hedon Spa: mineral-rich Estonian mud treatments, indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and a spa hotel.
About
Hedon Spa & Hotel occupies the historic Pärnu Mud Baths building (Pärnu mudaravila), the heart of Estonia's oldest seaside mud-cure resort. Bathing on this site dates to 1838, when a bathing house offered warm sea baths in summer and hot sauna in winter, and the resort grew rapidly from the 1890s. After the original burned during World War I, the surviving neoclassical building was raised in 1926–1927 to designs by Olev Siinmaa, Erich von Wolffeldt and Aleksander Nürnberg, becoming the home of Pärnu's celebrated therapeutic-mud treatments. A boutique spa reopened the restored building in 2014.
Curative mud & mineral treatments
The spa continues Pärnu's mud-cure tradition using mineral-rich Estonian therapeutic mud, applied to body and face to cleanse, soften and hydrate the skin. Signature treatments include a sauna with Estonian mud application and a full Estonian mud wrap, alongside marine and mineral-based body therapies in a boutique spa of 12 treatment rooms.
